Indiana Warrant Records Indiana Warrant Records

Indiana Warrant Records is a reference site, not an official warrant-status desk. The proper contact depends on who keeps the record: a county court clerk, the sheriff or other service agency, or the Indiana Judicial Branch’s Office of Judicial Administration for records it holds. The routes below distinguish those roles and point local questions to the correct county.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. This website is independently operated and cannot search official warrant systems, verify a person’s warrant status, arrange a surrender or bond, recall a warrant, or advise you about a case. For an official answer, contact the court that issued the process and the sheriff or other agency responsible for service.

Use the custodian that matches the record or question:

  • Current warrant status: Indiana has no public all-state arrest-warrant search. MyCase is a public case-search portal that may show an eligible docket event, but it does not verify current warrant status; IDACS/NCIC access is limited to authorized criminal-justice users. Find the county through the County Directory and ask the sheriff’s warrant office or the issuing court to confirm.
  • A county case docket or court document: contact the Clerk of the Circuit Court for a county Circuit or Superior Court case. If the matter comes from a city or town court, use that court’s local clerk; start with the County Directory to find the county and court links.
  • A record held by the Office of Judicial Administration: use the Indiana Judicial Branch’s public-records request instructions for OJA-held administrative records. That request route does not obtain every county court file; case dockets and orders belong with the local court clerk.
  • Steps to resolve a warrant: ask the issuing court about its procedure and consult a licensed Indiana attorney about a recall, surrender, or bond. The relevant court and sheriff contacts are reached through the County Directory.
  • How Indiana’s public channels differ: the Warrant Lookup and Warrant System pages explain MyCase’s limits, restricted law-enforcement systems, and local confirmation.

For Indiana arrest warrants, the issuing court keeps the court-side case record and the sheriff or other responsible agency handles service and status confirmation. A public-record request under the Indiana Access to Public Records Act (APRA), Ind. Code ch. 5-14-3, applies to agency records subject to exceptions; court files follow the Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records, including the public-access baseline in Rule 4 and exclusions in Rule 5. Neither framework creates a single statewide warrant hotline. Use the County Directory to reach the local office that holds the record.
